Not every moment worth celebrating comes with balloons and a guest list—sometimes it’s just making it through a tough week, finishing a project, or finally having time to sit down with a friend.
Malaysian café chain Secret Recipe is leaning into this idea with its new “Make Life Sweeter” campaign, which launched this month.
The premise is simple: life doesn’t need a milestone to deserve cake – and if you’re going to indulge, you might as well do it properly.
To that end, the brand—which now operates over 365 outlets nationwide after 28 years in business—has rolled out two limited-time dine-in deals designed to make treating yourself (or someone else) a little easier on the wallet.
Set Chill is aimed at the catch-up crowd: two slices of cake and two drinks for a price that won’t require mental arithmetic. The cake selection includes most of the menu, barring brownies and chocolate lava, while drinks span the brand’s signature range, coffee, ice-blended options, milkshakes, and hot chocolate.
Set Santai, meanwhile, is for solo diners who want something more substantial. One main course—think curry mee, Vietnamese beef noodle, or spaghetti bolognese—paired with a slice of cake. It’s the kind of meal that works whether you’re killing time between meetings or settling in with a laptop for the afternoon.
A New Cake—And A Trip To Thailand
The campaign’s centrepiece is a new addition to the menu: Thai Milk Tea cake.
It’s a layered affair—Thai tea-infused sponge, mascarpone cream, Chantilly cream, and a thin Thai tea glaze on top.
At RM13.50 per slice or RM105 for a whole cake, it’s now available at outlets across Peninsular Malaysia.
But here’s the hook: buy a slice between now and 31 January 2026, and you’re automatically entered into a draw to win a pair of return flights to Thailand.
Three grand prize winners will each receive a RM3,000 travel voucher, while 15 runners-up will take home RM200 Secret Recipe cash vouchers.

Making The Case For A Breather
The entry process is straightforward—scan a QR code, upload your receipt, and you’re in.

It’s a clever bit of marketing, tying a Thai-inspired dessert to an actual trip to Thailand.
Whether it’ll move the needle on cake sales remains to be seen, but the campaign does what it sets out to do: give people a reason to stop by, sit down, and take a breather.
As Patrick Sim, the brand’s group chief executive officer, puts it: “Whether you’re on the hunt for a place to fill your tummy or finding solace to get work done, life can always be made sweeter with a visit to Secret Recipe.”
